I feel a little silly typing into a mirror, so I think that I'll say hi this way instead. [she laughs] Not that I won't look much less stupid if this doesn't work!

Anyway, hello there to everyone who can hear me! My name is Nepeta and I'm clawsitively brand new around here. I'm really sorry to hear that things are going badly in this world, but I kind of had my own problems back home. So I guess since we can't go back until things get fixed here I'll be working extra hard to hurry it up.

But I've got a question in the meantime that I hope somebody can answer. Is there any way to bring specific people here? If I can't go back home just yet then I'd at least like to know that my friends are somewhere a little safer.

[the frown is almost audible in her voice, but it perks back up fairly quickly]

If by some chance you guys are here already, you better tell me right away! There'll be shell to pay if I have to walk around and find you myself.

Maybe there are safe. There's some funky time thing that goes on-- I don't know, I didn't really get into it.

Oh, you're a troll? There are a lot of them around here. A lot of the fish ones, too. Do you know Tavros or Equius?

I'm pretty clawful at time stuff, but if whatever's going on means they're safe then I'm happy.

Yeah, I'm a troll too! And I know both of them, they're some of my best friends. [aaaah if she knows Tavros that means he's been talking to people. so proud!]

What's 'time stuff'? There's stuff for time? News to me. [Toph's happy her friends aren't getting into trouble without her there, too, but she doesn't want to admit that just yet.]

Really? [She's a little surprised-- she hadn't expected her to actually know them.] Tavros is my roommate, though I think he's moving out with his trainrail thing. He's a pretty nice guy. He doesn't think I'm offensive and he lives with me.

[Which Toph finds pretty funny, and is also one of the main qualities she looks for in friends.]

Of course there is. There's time stuff and space stuff and I guess stuff for everything else too. But maybe that's just where I'm from. [paradox space isn't here specialty ok]

Really! That sounds just live Tavros, haha; it's really hard for him to get upset with people.

[although this is the first time she's heard of a moirail. she's going to have to bug him and ask about his quadrant life since coming here, oh gosh.]

Yeah, we definitely don't have that. We have spirit world stuff, [she says matter-of-factly.] It's all about accepting your inner self and visiting dead people and being a fuzzy ferret-kitten. Not my thing.

I have some friends like that at home, but you can allllways find where their button is if you push hard enough.

That sounds...a little bit like something we had back home, except a lot more complicated. I don't think I'd be very good at it, haha.

I really don't think that anyone should be pushing Tavros like that. He's got enough problems with self-control anyway.

You're not missing anything. Whenever Twinkle Toes goes on a spirit journey, he just sits there unconscious for a few hours, and then he comes back with a story about a lion-turtle. I don't really pay attention.

I'm not going to push him, [she insists.] He's not my earthbending student. But why do you say he has problems with self-control? He seemed fine to me. [And she's queen of self-control.]

Haha, that almost sounds like when some of my friends would go to the dream planets! Although I don't think they ever had stories that sounded that interesting.

He's really worried about hurting people by accident. Maybe people who haven't known him a long time don't notice it? [because it practically leaks out the computer and smacks her in the face whenever she talks with him]

Aang's full of interesting stories. You should hear the one about the unagi. What're dream planets?

Oh... huh, different Tavros, maybe? [Toph shrugs. She's peripherally run into that concept while she's been here, so it wouldn't surprise her.] I usually notice things like that, and he wasn't worried at all.

Um, they were like...when we fell asleep, we woke up on another planet and could explore and stuff. It's a lot more complicated than that, but I'd be really clawful at explaining it.

Probably. [a small sigh] If it was the Tavros I knew then you'd be able to tell pretty quickly.

That actually sounds kinda neat. Sorta like our situation here, except I don't think we're dreaming.

Sorry. [Not that she sounds all that sorry, but she's trying.] Maybe he'll show up later; sometimes there's two of someone. In the meantime, you could get to know the one that's here-- he really is pretty nice.

I really hope we're not! Who knows what might happen to our bodies if we're asleep for that long?

[also everyone might start mass suicides to wake up again...]

If he's a Tavros then I'm sure he's clawsitively wonderful. I'll have to see if I can meet him while I wait for mine to show up!

I don't know, I don't think about this stuff. I'm just getting myself home so my friends don't make too big a mess of our world while I'm gone. Who knows what they're doing without me?

You do that. He's not too hard to find or anything, though there is a crazy amount of the fish guys around. I thought they were supposed to be uncommon or something.

Yeah, I can definitely understand that! I've got a couple big dummies at home that I'd rather not leave alone.

They clawsitively are! I guess this world just thinks having so many is funny.

Mine aren't totally useless, but Aang's earthbending isn't exactly up to snuff yet, so they still need me.

There is tons of water around, [she says in slight disgust.] Not that I don't like being underground, but did they really have to build the city practically inside the lake?

Earthbending? What's that?

Maybe there's no other way to get water into the city? But I think I'm a little biased, since I used to live near the beach.

Moving rocks around through martial arts and a spiritual connection to nature.

At least it isn't salt water -- the smell would get into everything. I'm just much happier on the ground where I belong.

That sounds really neat! I don't think anyone from my world could do that.

I can understand that. Caves aren't exactly what you think of when you imagine a city, haha.

Yeah, seems like we're the only ones. It's kinda freaky. I always thought bending was part of nature, like the sun or the grass or something.

I think a cave city is pretty cool, but not as cool as the crystal catacombs I got to go into once. Those were really neat.

Maybe it's just part of your nature? I mean, not everyone's going to have the same things on their planet.

Those sound imclawsibly cool! I've never seen anything like that before, although I did visit a desert made of glass a few times.

I never even thought about planets before I came here. It's not like we could go to them.

The desert pretty much sucked when I went there, and that was just a normal desert. How was it for you?

It was imclawsibly pretty! But it was a little too dry for my tastes and the brains kept bumping into everyone so I didn't go back if I could help it.

That's kind of nuts, [she says matter of factly.] Some people don't even leave their village where I'm from.

The... brains? Is this some freaky alien thing or just a freaky you thing?

No? Is it that dangerous on your planet? [because if it was boy could she relate]

I guess it was more of a freaky game thing? It had to do with something my friends and I were involved in that's imclawsibly complicated.

There has been a war going on for a hundred years, but traveling just takes too long. Not everyone is the Avatar and has a flying sky bison. Most people gotta walk or take a boat.

Never mind, then. If it's that complicated I'll probably stop paying attention halfway through. But brains... really?
