002: Second Video

<small>[Eddward steadies his hat. Several more gadgets are on his person--some sort of magnifying monocle, some rings on his fingers, and he appears to have a belt with various tools in them. Several books are scattered throughout his personal space.]<big>

Greetings again, fellow Otherworlders! This is Eddward speaking, your astute local paperboy!

At first I was rather off-put <small>[Putting it mildly, are we Eddward?]<big> by our sanctioned migration to Darstone, but I was perhaps mildly hasty in my initial assumptions...

"Magic", as you would have it, functions far more closer to the sciences than I originally thought! I'm no "magus" by any means, but from what I've gleaned from these books--as well as a certain fellow boarder, you know who you are!--the very process in which "magic" is utilized has a very scientific approach! You see, much like the theoretical science of "alchemy", "magic" essentially boils down to equivalent exchange: firstly, the user has an amount of "mana", if you will. Secondly, the desired spell is recited in a specific manner. Lastly, assuming the body has sufficient amount of magical resource and the spell recited perfectly, the desired effects are sprung forth!

This is of course just a generalization, but isn't that exciting!? <small>[Eddward begins to speak in a much quicker, far happier tone than the one he normally carries.]<big>

The magic from my home is...well, it's nonexistent. Maybe. This crossing of the dimensional latitudes has certainly shared knowledge the likes of which we would never have ever fathomed! <i>Isn't that exhilarating!?!?</i>

<small>[Deep breath...]<big>

Hwhew...sorry, I went off on a tangent there.

I believe I may have found a very interesting piece of information. A field test may be in order very soon, so keep your ears and eyes open, ladies and gentlemen!

<small>[He still sweats like he usually does.]<big>

Oh, not really. They're all stories I heard when I was a kid, actually. The men who came before us all were gods among gods.

So, they obviously had quite a few stories behind them that we loved hearin'.
