[The view suddenly shifts to the ceiling of his room-- apparently our young antihero expects to leave his mirror behind. There's a soft chirp off-screen, though, and a very colorful blur.]


Heh. Of course. I won't leave you behind.

[He gestures a little and Levi obediently flies over to Toph, landing precariously on her head and dwarfing her.] This is Levi. He's the Dream Eater you heard over the mirror.

[Oh, he got the heard instead of seen part right. Toph is now marginally curious-- most people hear she's blind and the second she doesn't need special treatment, it goes out the other ear. Of course, she prefers that, but it does make him slightly interesting that he didn't forget. Maybe he's just meticulous.

She doesn't have too long to think on it, as then Levi is landing on her head. She twitches at the surprise, not having felt him coming, but Momo used to do that all the time. After a second she relaxes and reaches up with a hand to steady him and offer petting at the same time.]

Hi, Levi. You know, I was missing having all the nosy animals around. I used to travel with a couple, and you think you're sick of having shedding sky-bison fur in your stuff, but I kinda miss it.

[shadowslide]

[Levi croons and his wings flutter, brushing over Toph's cheeks and maybe messing up her hair a little.]

Sky bison? [Come to think, hadn't this girl mentioned something about bat-dogs? Maybe her world was like that. She was a lot smaller than he'd expected, from the way she'd talked, but he guessed he couldn't really talk height right now.]

Sounds like your world was pretty interesting.

[fieldtrip]

[Fortunately Toph couldn't care less about how her hair looks. She giggles faintly at the ticklish feeling of wings on her cheeks, a lot more girlish than she tries to project, and keeps petting.]

It was interesting to me. Appa is Aang's sky bison-- the last one alive. He's massive, and we used to travel around the world flying on him. We had to wash him in the river when he was shedding; it took a pitch fork to get all the fur out.

[And you can't see it, but he's smiling.] Sounds like a lot to handle. Can animals talk on your world?

[Levi chirps, prompting Riku to dig out a tiny treat- confetti candy, offering it to Toph carefully.]

Here, I've got some candy Levi likes.

Can they talk? [she repeats incredulously, reaching out to take the treat without thinking.] No, they can't talk! Do they do that where you're from? Does he talk?

[She seems skeptical that Levi talks, and brings her hand up, palm flat with the candy on it, to give to him. She's a little awkwardly hunched over to accommodate his weight on her head, but she balances and manages it easily.]

Not where I'm from, but they might in some worlds. And no, he can't, either. It'd be a little easier if he did, sometimes.

Easier how? What would you need to talk to him about?

He helped me find a friend, once.

...Something like that. You could say he has this knack for getting into trouble.

I know exactly what you mean.

[She reaches up to try to shift Levi onto her shoulder, a much less awkward talking position.]

What's his name?

Sora. [Obligatory moefaise because it's canon. And snap now the cat's out of the bag.]

He's always slacking off, but he gets into trouble the moment I take my eyes off him.

[fieldtrip]

Sora? [she says in surprise, pausing momentarily.] Hey, I met him! I thought he was just like Aang.

That's the kid with the sky bison. I'm his earthbending teacher.

You... met him? You mean back at your world? [Funny, he kinda thought Sora would've mentioned flying buffalo- bison. Kind of like that Santa episode.]

Earthbending?

[fieldtrip]

No, no, I met him here! Just a little while ago. Geez, keep up. He just reminds me of my friend.

Earthbending is manipulating the earth through martial arts and willpower. It's an inborn talent.
