[She clears her throat] Tomorrow all the stores and official buildings of Darstone will be closed in order to honor Lorris, the late Speaker. As citizens, you are all invited to his funeral tomorrow at noon, if you would so wish.

[She cuts off the feed there. Xiuh doesn't want to start crying over the network. She has to be strong damn it.]

You think it'll take less than a week to vote the new Speaker in? It takes them a month to do the annual extension of the tax law, and they don't even change anything.

I know, I know... But we might not have to stay completely sober this whole time though. Even you aren't going to be working constantly, Little Miss Scarlet Scales.

We'll see. Depending on how this week goes, I might not want to be completely sober to work.

Maybe that Huglu. Just a guess-- I try not to get involved in all this. I have enough squabbling inter-species relations to take care of.

You'd hate my job. A lot. Though I guess I wouldn't be so fond of yours either. I don't really like punching people for misbehaving.

I don't punch anyone, Xiuh, [she says with a hint of amusement.] I have officers to do that for me.
