[okay, you know what? to hell with keeping silent. after his run-ins with Prussia and Germany at the festival, he's angry. he's wary of them, and he wants the rest of Darstone to be wary, too. because, obviously, there are creatures here of all kinds, and they certainly don't fit Hitler's idea of the Master Race. yup, who knows what those Nazis will do!

a young-looking man appears on the screen with lime-colored eyes and blond hair. oh, also, note those humongous brows. he has a distinctively British accent]

Attention guests and citizens of Darstone. I would like to bring to your attention a warning. There are two dangerous blokes in the city and I urge you all to be careful around them.

[here, he holds up a picture he sketched]

They are from my world, and they have committed atrocities the likes of which I care not to discuss unless asked directly. Please be cautious! As I've stated, they are dangerous. Make certain you never turn your back on them!

W-well, it's not that I worry that you will think I'm weird, rather that you won't believe me. I am being serious about these men, but if you find me mad, you may not be so inclined to believe a word I say.

I can believe a lot, [she says wryly.] This isn't my first time around the dance floor.

[She turns more serious.] And it's my job to keep track of us-- the dimensional arrivals. If someone's a threat, I need to know about it.

Your job? So... Are you the one who called us here?

Oh, no-- no, [she says quickly.] The city council called you here, I just got here earlier than you by a few months. They needed someone to be a go-between for them and all the rest of us. I didn't realize I was getting suckered into looking after this many people when I agreed; there was just a few of us then.

I see. [it'd be nice to be able to talk to that council] Well, if you ever require any assistance, I would be happy to help. I have experience with looking over large groups of people.

[You'll be able to ICly as soon as we have icons, which should be... soon...]

[Willow perks up, expression brightening.] You do? That would be great! I can use all the help I can get. I'm Willow Rosenberg.

[he smiles and is about to respond when he realizes he has to give his name. for the time being, he had been giving out his human alias. but since she wanted to know who he really was..........]

It's nice to meet you, miss Rosenberg. I'm... Hm.

You're...? I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to. Private, remember?

[She has a very earnest expression that makes it easy to believe she's trustworthy, though in reality she isn't always, of course.]

[he's still nervous...]

[It's not exactly an intuitive leap, so Willow looks puzzled.]

I'm pretty sure that's a country. It sure looked like it when I was in Devon.

[he was deliberately being vague]

[But of course, she's heard some really strange things before, so give her a second...]

Wait... Do you mean-- wait. [Slowly,] England. Not like a nickname?

That is correct, miss. [wait until he tells you about the other ones. though he doesn't want to shock her with everything all at once] I am a country.

Does that mean you know everything that's in the British Library, because I've really been missing having Giles' books to cross-reference and I'm pretty sure he owns copies of the entire--

[Halt. Oops. She realizes she started babbling and says sheepishly,] Sorry, um, was that rude? I didn't mean to be rude, but I've never met a country before, and I don't really know how this works.

Back home I live on top of a portal to hell. After that first vampire tries to kill you, it's all downhill from there on the wacky.

[England is where the Watcher's Council is, after all, and they might be great big jerks but they definitely knew their supernatural stuff.]

[obviously Willow cannot tell he's happily excited. or that his eyes are twinkling. or that he's practically bouncing]

Oh, yes, yes! Of course! I use magic myself. I know witches as well as fairies. Some of them are my best friends! [more sparkling at you here. what happened to the Nazi threat?]

[Willow certainly doesn't know what happened to it, because gosh, they're talking about magic. Way more exciting. Villains happen all the time!

She grins at his excitement.] Fairies, huh? I don't do much with them, they're kinda fond of the whole tricking mortals into eating their food and never leaving. Maybe you do better with them.

[that makes him laugh. for the first time since he's gotten here, he looks jovial and at ease]

I should say so. Most of them respect me, whereas they do not always respect humans.

[Yay success. She's always happy to cheer people up.]

Not that I can blame them, [she jokes. But as much as she does like the happier conversation, Willow isn't entirely capable of forgetting a threat, and in the back of her mind she's been putting pieces together.] So does that make these Nazis, like, the Nazis? Is one of them Germany, or do you just recognize them?

Oh, right. Yes. The taller one is Germany. Prussia is his older brother.

Wow... and I thought I was jaded. [But clearly she hadn't seen everything yet.]

Do you think they're going to try something? This isn't exactly the same atmosphere that led them to getting enough power to start a war.

[how is he jaded? he was just telling the truth]

I don't know for sure. Germany said he had no intention of continuing the war here, but I thought I'd just be careful.
