What an awkward and cumbersome device this bloody mirror slash computer object is.

Might as well get this introduction over and done with, yeah? My name is Henry, and after reading through some of the more recent posts to this network, it seems we're all just going to have to sit back and "enjoy the ride." [in a sarcastic tone] Which in this case means to work for our freedom doing meaningless quests and missions, it appears.

If I may, does anyone have any information pertaining to this so-called quest board? Thank you.

In that sense, then yes, I suppose you're correct, Justin. I can only assume they're meant to try and better this place...and that's what makes them meaningless.

Yes, quite, but I can't help but commend them for its effectiveness. Without a doubt, a good handful of the abducted will cater to their "requests", and it'll be a win-win situation for the whole lot of us, granted no one decides to up and stir things up a little.

Yes, I wonder what would happen if someone did do something like that...

In the interest of not being too seedy, there's a hole in the wall just over into crafter's district from the marketplace, called the Wife's Beard. It's kind of a little place. They'll give you your scotch and leave you alone.

Sounds like my kind of hangout. While I can enjoy a nice little hole in the wall from time to time, seedy spots tend to capture my heart in odd little ways. Thanks for that bit then, uh-- I'm afraid I didn't catch your name.

Willow Rosenberg. And you're Henry? I'm the official liaison person between us and the locals, so if you need help finding anything, or getting a job or a place to live, you can ask me. I'm a helper.

[Yeah, that'll get her more than a strange look, if anything. Heh...]

Yes. [He nods slowly along as she explains.] A helper? So, you're in on this whole people being kidnapped and forced into a strange town arrangement deal?

[It might sound a little accusing, but his expression is incredibly amused. He doesn't really care too much about how he got here or anything, anyway.]

Oh-- no, no, not in on it. I was kidnapped, too, um, technically speaking. It's most that I just like to help, and my job is about helping, so I'm... a helper.

[Yup, there she goes, babbling right on schedule.]

No, none of the locals are human, [she explains, calming down largely out of embarrassment, and vaguely sheepish.]

There's a few different kinds-- gnomes, bird people, frog people, and lizard people. If you see anyone else, they're almost definitely in the same boat as you.

[Raises an eyebrow.]

Not human, I see. A rather fantastical land we've all ended up in then, is it? Just out of curiosity, were you appointed as a helper, or was it just your own doing?

Appointed? I volunteered, but it's kinda an official position.

The whole thing reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons.

Which means unlike the locals, the more official positions in this place are not taken up by...creatures, yes? [He'd just find that a bit unsettling. Sorry, locals.]

At least that's a reference I understand.

Um, no, there's really not too many of us compared to locals. I think it's just me and Stein and Eridan that are official, and Eridan's not human, either. But they're not so much creatures as just a difference race? Think of it that way.

[She smiles wryly.] I know, no one understands my references. I'm all witty and then they make me explain the joke, and it's not so funny anymore. Total let down.

[Rubs his chin...yes, think D&D, Henry.] Interesting.

That's a feeling I'm all too familiar with, it seems. I'm afraid we're just terribly misunderstood individuals.
